According to most economists, the recession is over.  To many of us involved in construction and related industries, this statement remains hard to believe.  However, in a time of dropping sales figures, there is a shining star for the cast polymer industry… The Shower… in particular high-end, customized shower installations.

Because cast polymer manufacturers can create showers in a variety of materials (cultured marble, cultured onyx, solid color, or granite-effect) in virtually any color or shape, the “Shower World “ is our “oyster.”   Here are a few of the newer products from Gruber Systems now available to manufacturers to insure your business has the tools you need to create the most up-to-date installations possible. 

1054 Shower Pan Series: The 1054 Shower Pans feature a double water dam which effectively creates a “drainless lip” on the front threshold of the mold.   Because the shower door glass rests on the lower dam, the higher second dam prevents any residual water on the surrounding ledge of the threshold from leaking out.  In addition, the drain slope of the pans has been increased to a full 1” to ensure adequate drainage, even on uneven floors.

An additional major advantage connected with newer shower pan designs is the reduction in finished product weight.  Newer mold designs require less matrix to produce a part without compromising quality.  Weight reduction is significant, especially in larger parts, a fact greatly appreciated by delivery and installation crews.  It also places our industry in a more favorable light when builders are selecting among competing materials.

Three (3) new designs have been added to the 1054 series in recent months, bringing the total number of shower pans in the series to seven (7).  These include:

• 1054-01  T60 x 32 Rectangular Right Drain
• 1054-02  T60 x 32 Rectangular Left Drain
• 1054-03  T60 x 32 Center Drain
• 1054-04  60 Neo Angle
• 1054-05  T36 x 36
• 1054-06  T36 x 42
• 1054-07  T42 x 36

The 1054 Shower Pan Series also ushers in a new way of manufacturing shower pans.  The molds in the series can be better described as Gateless Shower Pans.  A one-piece female is set in place during casting, replacing the raised gate used on our older molds.  By using the female, demolding is easier, and the problem of cracking on the raised water dam is effectively eliminated.

Wall Panels: Four (4) new Tile Wall Panels have been added to our Wall Panel line, giving your customers more options than ever to add the “look” and “design” of tile without all the headaches.  With cast polymer, there is no grout to attract bacteria and soap scum… or worse yet, mold.  In addition, there is a greatly reduced chance of leakage, a frequent problem associated with tile installations.  Our easy-to clean and maintain panels can be created in an infinite number or colors, with or without veining.  Our 4 newest panels include:

Note:  The Bordered panels  do not have a border feature on the bottom.
